The Team

Originally native to rural Southwest Michigan, Mark Toliusis and Pat Sebastian have over fifty years combined experience in recording, live sound, and as touring musicians. Throughout the years, they have worked with countless artists, including: Terry McBride, The Verve Pipe, Frankie Ballard, Whey Jennings, Kjell Croce, Louvin Brothers, Paula Nelson, Pete Best, Jefferson Starship, and many others.

Mark holds a bachelor's degree in music from Western Michigan University and a master's in music from Northeastern Illinois University. Comfortable in a wide range of genres from country to classical, he is well-versed on a variety of instruments including trumpet, drums, and guitar. After years as a live sound engineer, Mark now is happily at home in the studio.

Pat studied jazz and classical piano at Western Michigan University where he also studied recording arts. Growing up playing alongside some of the region's finest blues musicians, Pat developed a unique instinct for moving songs into unexpected directions. A multi-instrumentalist, Pat's obsession with vintage to modern keyboards and guitars paint each production with unique colors.

Railway Recording works with artists featured on NBC's The Voice and America's Got Talent, Grammy Award winning musicians, independent artists, and labels. Mark and Pat are active members of Tennessee Songwriters Association International (TSAI). As songwriters, the team collaborates in storytelling with some of Nashville's most successful writers who have received many label cuts and sync placements on networks such as Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Apple, and Warner Brothers.
